In COP28 Summit, PM Narendra Modi bats for India as COP33 venue in 2028

Indian PM Narendra Modi proposed to host COP33 summit in India at current COP28 Summit, In Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

During the current UN Climate conference happening in Dubai, Indian PM Narendra Modi speaks about India’s achievement in limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, as India is among one of only few countries to achieve this. He adds India is a great example to the whole world to have the balance between National Development and Environment Conservation.

At the Opening of COP28 summit, Indian PM Narendra Modi proposed to host the UN climate conference in 2028 (COP33) in India. He also announced the Green Credit Initiative and said, “Today, from this forum, I announce one more pro-planet, pro-active and positive initiative – Green Credit initiative…”.

PM Modi, COP28 President Sultan Al Jaber and UN Climate Change President Simon Steill were the only leaders to join the opening plenary.

PM Modi meets with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and writes about it on X, “An excellent interaction with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during the COP28 Dubai Summit. Strong India-UK friendship helps create a better future for the coming generations”.

In his speech at COP28 summit, PM Modi calls for equitable energy transition saying, “just, inclusive, and equitable”.

The prime minister also calls rich countries like UAE & US, to transfer technology to help developing nations like India to prevent climate change. He also urges countries to have the environment friendly lifestyle and get rid of materialism.

PM Modi explains How important it is to grow the nation along with conserving the environment. He also speaks about a study by International Energy Agency, which says, this approach is one of the best to reduce carbon emissions by 2 billion tons.

Environment is very important for us, thus we should always consider protecting it without compromising in Nation’s Development, says PM Narendra Modi.
